$199.99 for the DS? How is that Kid Friendly?

Ouch! Looks like Ebgames is starting to take pre-orders for the Nintendo DS system. But at a price of $199.99 USD how is that kid-friendly? I think that price is way too high for the average gamer. Think about it. The Xbox and PS2 should be around 199.99 not a handheld. What do you all think?

I think ebgames is full of it.

this has been up for sometime on Ebgames and if u look at it says “The ship date and retail price have not been confirmed and therefore are subject to change. If the retail price is decreased you will receive the lower price.” they have no more idea how much the games or the system will be than we do. and the games they have set for $50 ya right nintendo has already come out and sad that the game will be around $30 or something like that

That preorder bit has been like that for a while. It’s an uneducated guess by a retail store. Remember their $500 price on the pre-price information XBox? Nintendo DS will hit the market at $179.99 tops, I say.

Although, I’d almost bet money that it will be $160 at Best Buy the first week it is out. Target and/or K-Mart will have a T-Shirt deal when it comes out and Curcuit City will sell it for $170 the first week. First Week Sales are always lower than the normal sales to attract early adopters. Check your newspaper for ads the Sunday before the DS comes out.
