Nintendo Enters Film Industry?
Egads! Nintendo is looking to step into to the film industry. Hiroshi Yamauchi, the former prez, is going to propose an animated film project to the company’s board. Going with the companies 3D modeling experience, it’s assumed it would be a computer animated feature, much like Square Enix’s cult films. But, and a big but [...]
Nintendo DS: Look Ma, It’s Box Art!
Dear Mom and Dad,
I have found revealing images on the internet. Your visions of a sweet charming young lad being easily entertained by a simple Game Boy are no longer. Filth and putrid imagery like the example below have been traumatizing my mind since I first viewed them. I am in lust with digital imagery [...]

GP32 Xtreme">GP32 Xtreme
Some link lovin to the guys at GP32 Xtreme. They have assembled an excellent site for the GP32 that is updated almost every day. If you GP32 nut heads haven’t experienced GP32 Xtreme yet, you probably shouldn’t own a GP32. News for the system doesn’t come any fresher than this.
Nintendo DS: P2P Network, or GPS? You Decide.
Quick, go to Engadget, something is brewing in the lull. Rumours of a client-to-client-to-client adhoc network amongst friends and strangers alike. Perhaps, it’s GPS. Perhaps, it’s mobile carrier compatibility. Arrrgh, the drama is starting to kill me.
An adhoc, client-to-client, P2P network would pwn3d and sux0rs at the same time. You are downtown, you see John [...]
Post TGS 2004: Nintendo’s Stock Rises
A curious news clip finding at GameSpot. Nintendo saw a 2.1 percent increase in it’s share price on Japan’s Nikkei Stock Exchange. Significant rise, but nothing too alarming.
The article suggests the recent rise in price might be due to the poor showing that Sony’s PSP had at last weekend’s Tokyo Game Show. It might also [...]
Portagame Forums: beleted.
We’re starting Monday with some sad (or not so sad, depends on how you view it) news. We’ve decided to nix the forums for now. Aside from wasting processes on our host, we just weren’t sure how best to integrate them with a blog format and we were confusing a lot of readers (”Do I [...]
TGS 2004: Konami’s Snake Eater. Snake, loosely translated, Means Microphone
Not handheld related at all, but on the fun side of things at the Tokyo Game Show. Apparently, when Konami titled their game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, they tested the concept on poor helpless microphones. That, or snake eating is illegal in Japan.
Caption contest anyone?
(Just, um, keep it clean. Ok?)
TGS 2004: Sony PSP to Support MP3?
Will the Sony PSP support the MP3 along with their ATRAC3 audio format? We’re not seeing it on Sony’s website, but it’s very possible. Our first clue comes from GamesIndustry.biz, where an attendee of the Tokyo Game Show spotted the MP3 coded in the official Sony PSP product sheet. Second, days ago, Sony announced they [...]
TGS 2004: Sony PSP Remote
A unique treasure dug up by Gizmodo, the PSP remote will control the playback of music and videos on your PSP (we assume, but a safe assumption at that.
Day 1 of the Tokyo Game Show is over. After all the parties, reporters head back to their love hotel rooms and stay up the rest of [...]
