Don’t answer the door! It’s Sony!

Saw this great story from our friends over at The Register. A large UK paper reported yesterday that Sony was going to take legal action against consumers who bought grey-market PSP’s in the UK. That’s right, PSPs don’t go on sale in the EU until September. The newspaper said SCEE would maintain a list of such buyers - assuming it wins its High Court action against the importers, due to commence on Monday - to prevent them from taking advantage of the benefits granted to buyers of officially sourced product, such as technical support. Pretty scary huh? Sony denied maintaing any such list.

*yawns* Just more of Sony being Sony. Why do people love this company? It really makes no sense to go after importers. What does importing a PSP hurt? It means that *gasp* people who don’t want to wait for a system can have it and show it off to their friends. In a twisted way, early importers are the best advertisements. I think the truth of the matter is that some import stores buy product in bulk from other retailers and not directly from Sony. Because Sony is suddenly NOT getting a cut of that money, it makes Sony upset.

I totally disagree with sony doing this (mainly because i bought a japanise psp)
Either way they are still getting our money so why should they be concerned?

Perhaps if they released it everywhere at the same time, this problem wouldnt happen! i have had my PSP since february, but its not out until september here!

i do not agree,SONY is one of the best companys.Sony has made many consoles that just amaze me.Nearly everyone knows that.I dont care if people disagree with me but i love PSP but sadly i cant get it due to the price.

sorry i thought these comments were to regard anything. My comment does not so plz oblige:)
