Get to Voting!

Okay all you American Citizens, this is really way more important than portable Video Game consoles or conspiracies (did I just say that?), get off your butts and go vote. Cancel out of that Halo2 pre-order form and get moving. No matter what state you are in, what race you are, what gender you are, or what political party you represent, we all need to go vote. So get to it. And let’s get America headed towards a fresh start….Remember even if you haven’t registered many states offer provisional ballots at the election location!

I voted.

I’m a Reform Federalist with Right Leaning moral views. I voted for Bush. Bush may not be popular on the internet, but the internet -thankfully- is not representative of mainstream America. Imagine if the people from GameFaqs Message Boards ran your local government. *laughs*

I voted for Matt Blunt, Ike Skelton, for Amendment 3, Kit Bond, and could not bring myself to vote for either Cleaver or Patterson. So, I voted Libertarian on that one. Because neither of those two are worth the position. I’m fairly right leaning, which means I support a lot of Libertarian, Republican, Constitution, and Reform candidates.

I’m watching how this goes, because generally secure feeling Americans spend money. A successful and generally good result in the elections translates into buying during the Christmas season. Oh! It would appear that the GameStop vote is in and the Nintendo DS is currently leading the polls with a completely sold out pre-order venue.

Ah. This November 21st, paint America Silver. Oh, am I better off now than I was four years ago? YES. Also, if you intend to comment on the election here at Portagame, please refrain from “zombie” statements. I don’t want to see Kerry Sux or Bush Sux comments. Be mature, please.

OK. Then. You suck.

*laughs* You’re welcome to that opinion. But I’m not currently running for president. If you think that trying to interject intelligent conversation by limiting posts is wrong, state why in a concise manner. All we’re asking is if you voted or remembered to vote. The news item is a reminder to vote. I merely mentioned that I voted and I listed who I voted for. Did you vote? If so, for whom? Please make a statement answering that question instead of attacking me. If you are too young to vote -as you most likely may be mentally or physically- state that you are and tell us who you would have voted for if you were able to vote. Thank you.

yes. yes. please order the Movie Player. Portagame is eating up my bandwidth and gaming budget, but I keep it up for “the love of the game” and so I keep my guilty habit of quoting “dumb clichés”.

I went to vote, but neither Nintendo DS nor Sony PSP were on the ballot. Talk about disenfranchised voter!! I was originally going to write in NGPC as my vote, but wrote someone else in instead. Guess what? He Won!

I voted for Bush. I think Kerry is to wishy-washy to make any kind of difficult decisions. He tried to use his military experience to gain him popularity… he was not even in the military for a long time and he betrayed his own men. Not someone I’d want running the country. If he was around during Sept. 11th, we’d all be wearing turbans right about now.

Back to DS stuff…. I think Sony did have a good idea of the analog control. I do wonder why they didn’t put 2 of them on there. But personally I don’t really like their analog, it feels too mushy to me. I prefer Nintendo’s because you can feel some resistance and know you are actually pushing something.

—————————–
I do also think durability will be an issue. I know my friends have had to return their PS2’s over and over again. I never had to return my Gamecube once (even after transporting it back and forth).

See! That’s the type of posts I like to see! Some of my friends at Hastings voted for Kerry and I gave them free breakfast coupons for McDonalds so they wouldn’t feel bad about losing. I mean, I didn’t agree with them, but they are still my friends and everyone loves McGriddles. The end. See bipartisonship is tasty and delicious. :)

Remember to VOTE SILVER on November 21st! Get out and TOUCH AMERICA! TOUCHING IS GOOD!

I didn’t vote, because i’m not from the States. I would have voted vor Kerry, as currently about 90 percent of the europeans.
We have a deep aversion for mixing up religion and politics.

Got back from work.. tooo tired.. rambling a bit. But it’ll probably make sense.

I suppose the aversion to the influence of a persons core beliefs on their decisions is fairly unique to the socio-political spectrum of Europe. I suppose that would be why Europe clings to antique government ideas like Socialism, Monarchy, etc. It would also be why root moral decay due to lack of a religious anchor in Europe has caused outbreaks in diseases, etc. I wonder if the spread of AIDs could be

I believe that belief is central to what a person is. If you stand up for nothing, you fall down for everything. In America, we have a unique ideal in which the people elect a leader who they feel has the most in common with what they believe. In America, we do not have seperation of church and state in our constitution. (Look it up, I’m right. It’s not actually there. Yes, they lied to you in school. Get used to it.) We can allow our politics to be influenced by morality (mostly religion) and not vice versa. Because of the massive variance in faiths in the USA, we do not shun other religions while embracing only one religion, like -for example- Ireland. Unlike most of Europe, we get along with the Jewish religion, our Protestants and Catholics don’t massacre each other, and we even allow Wicca to be practiced.

Maybe the fear of letting core moral beliefs influence the political landscape in Europe is why the European Union is struggling. I suppose it just stems from centuries of prejudice and bigotry toward religion. However, I have a question: Why Kerry over Bush on the religous question? Bush is a Protestant, but Kerry is a Catholic. Wouldn’t the anti-religious in Europe see a president who answers to a massive heavy-handed organization like the Vatican as more of a threat?

I think that religious indecision could be more harmful than a religious anchor. Kerry just seems to be without a foundation. A lack of a foundation means that there is nothing to fall back on when the chips are down. In other words, a person with strong moral conviction is less likely to allow things like the school massacre in Russia to happen. If Russia had a strong leader with religious conviction to ground him, maybe those 300+ children would be alive today. If we had had a strong morally grounded leader back in 1994, there would be 3,000+ people who would not have died on September 11th, 2001. Keep in mind that there are numerous checks and balances in America’s government that keep religions anchors from sinking the ship. If those anchors are not there though, America’s government begins to drift all over the place. That could be more dangerous… but I’m sleepy. So, afternoon nap! Please respond.

nader should have won. our generation will ensure the demise of the tired old democrat vs republican escapade, if there still is the same american government by that time. china will probably take over the world before then. it seems so simple to me, youve got dumb and dumber campaiging on msnbc, fox news, nbc, cnn, etc etc etc….. all the while a person that many people dont even know who he is, and a very competant person - running. nader… its like, bush and kerry are those 2 little kids you see fighting at school, and then nader comes in and brakes it up and sais “knock it the fuck off you little shits!, this is how it is!”, then bush speaks up, kerry sais “i was against the fight in the first place”, and nader just beats the living shiit out of both of them for being so stupid…..

bush sucks and who ever voted for bush must be mental

dtghty, You can’t call Bush voters mental when you write in run-on sentences, can’t spell, and are incapable of using punctuation.

BTW, I voted for Bush. :-P
