Glimmerati, Another N-Gage Game That Doesn’t Suck

Bad mouth the N-Gage all you want, it still has some very unique games in its library. Games you’d want to play, but can only find on the N-Gage. They’re Exclusive. One such unique game is the upcoming Glimmerati, a story based, fast-paced driving game with an overhead, behind-the-car view.

In Glimmerati, you find yourself as a streetracer and get a break during a local race. As a result you find yourself immersed in an exclusive racing club of the rich and famous along with their custom rides. Win a race, get an invite to another. Or perhaps you’ll be invited to try some stunt driving for a music video or a movie scene. Or interview a supermodel that loves her car more than her body. The story branches out, but I imagine it’s more “Choose Your Own Adventure” than open-ended gameplay a la’ GTA. Still much better replay value than a set storyline like most other racing games have.

Bugbear Entertainment is developing this exclusive piece of property for Nokia, who’s publishing it with N-Gage Arena support. It also supports 4-player multiplayer via bluetooth (similar to ad-hoc for those of you only familiar with PSP terms). Glitterati will be shipped sometime during Summer 2005.
