Kotaku’s Brian vs. Rocky Mtn News vs. Sony PSP

There is a reason why a lot of professional writers get hooked on blogging. They love to write! But, with blogging they can do it without the queries, the research, the deadlines, the drafts, the moody editors, the resubmissions, and sometimes the retractions. That most likely means they blog and without the income. Blogs are enough of a creative outlet that it makes doing it minus an income worth it.

So where am I going with this? Am I a professional writer who loves to blog? Answer: Do I write like I am? Check my grahammar sometime.

But, Brian from Kotaku has the best of both worlds. He writes for a living AND he gets paid to blog, which is like writing, but different. Funny successful-business-model-observation: a lot of Gawker Media staffers either started as writers or become one after their Gawker fame.

Again I tangent drift. Where was I? Oh yes, writing vs. blogging. Really, this whole post is just an exercise to see if I can eloquently stretch a blog post into the same size as a column. My conclusion: I failed. I’ll leave it to the pros like Brian who make writing a nice piece on the PSP for the Rocky Mountain News look easy. We know a ton of time is invested into writing such a column, so do yourself a favor and read the article. It has some nice past, present, and future vibes about Sony in the handheld gaming market. You’ll feel more sophisticated and long-winded after the read. I need a nap. Wow, it’s one in the morning. Forget nap, I need to go to bed.
