Nintendo’s new Portable.
Sorry for the title, I was being facetious. I just wanted to toy with your emotions. Just found a really interesting (to say the least) image of a concept portable Gamecube. Isn’t she pretty? Perhaps if demand skyrocketed for such a thing - Nintendo might oblige (I’m saying this in the most optimistic manner possible).

Cool but I hate it because it is not portable enough with that big screen. The PSP is better than whatever that thing is called.

*laughs* That’s pretty funny concept artwork, however.. if you look at the way it’s designed, the unit would be less than half an inch longer and taller than the GBA SP. *holds up a GC Disc* Which would make it smaller than the PSP and the DS.
Of course, the image is missing Select, Start, Z, L, and R buttons. Would be interesting to own though if it were real. The memory card slot in the second picture is perspectively incorrect. The bottom part of this device would have to be metal not plastic, because it would have to be the heatsink. Oddly enough, it looks like the image’s creator kept that in mind.

plus, i don’t think ngc controllers have select buttons *scoffs*.
I’d take two if it had at least 10 hrs batt. life and priced at 150 or less usd.
the thing is, i haven’t gotten either portable (ds, psp) because I simply don’t like any of the games so much as to justify purchasing it. I’ll stick with my fps’s on my comp. 
ah that was my doing, its not an a ds either, but there presently is no section only for conceptual art, so i just classified it under hardware on psp, ds, and gba.
as for dmgice - yeah, cream soda got ya with the select button 
lol. and there is a small area in the center of the pad that could very well be a start button, it doesnt need to be that accessible anyway, its not like its a regular action button. as for the L R and z, well, couldnt htey just be at the top where the image doesnt show? would be pretty hard to stick two analog shoulder buttons of the same vein as the cubes,AND a z button to top it off though.
if they pulled this off - i would love it.
if anything… i think that if they ever sold something this nice-looking, it would probably be a side-product to complement their durable kid-friendly game boys. Plus, practically, wouldn’t that clear acrylic on the top really easy to scratch? It’d be just like my friend’s ipod - there are so many scratches on it it looks like the screen is out of focus. lol
anyway, back to the ’side-product’ point. a bright oled-like screen on both sides of the lid would be really expensive and probably won’t make it to the final product 
otherwise, i love it - in fact, i’d play it 24/7 if it had some sort of GTA game.
p.s. wouldn’t it be called game boy revolution?
This image is obviosuly a hoax, This concept art wasn’t very well thought out because how will this unit “flip down” with the analog sticks (eg c button and analog stick) This would obstruct the screen from closing unless the analog sticks decends into the unit, but a good idea nonetheless.
the screen proporion is off a little bit, it looks to big to fit when folded. but dam, ’tis a fine gizmo indeed but if it was real i’d laugh at how soon it replaced the DS, just as i predicted.
Even if it were real it would be very difficult to use to controls on it. I give Props to the guy who ever made that becaues it fooled mr the first time.

if you look closely, it appears that there is 2 to 3 centimeters of open area. i would imagine the analog sticks wouldnt be fashioned in the same sense as regular controllers, but that they would be more like nubs.

no, it doesnt have games that were targetted towards the portable market, in fact, it wouldnt even be considered a portable console. its like the psone with the lcd screen, thats not considered a handheld console, is it? the gba revolution will be an entirely different market than this.

hey guess what gerardo - i like the ds more then the psp. i am, however, not a little kid that gets sexually excited over it and feel hte need to insult what i assume is my “enemy portable”. by the way - sales so far show ds ahead of psp… just so you know, theyre both pretty neck and neck but ds has more software sales out there, proportionately to the time frame that each was released in. neither system is “kicking the other ones ass”, but if there CAN so be declared a winner, it would be the ds.

portable so it does not even have to deal with the PSP so sry i’ll just go and give my opinion to some other web page and by the way just because i dont like DS it does not mean i dont like nintendo’s company i have the gamecube, nintendo 64, and gameboy advance sp, and i love the games that came out in the nintndo’s consoles but i actully like PSP better.

Oh, a bit back I accused Sony of using the 64-Bit R4000 chip from MIPS in the PSP. I got an e-mail from one of my friends at EA alerting me to the point that it doesn’t use the 64-Bit R4000 chip.. it uses the much weaker.. and older.. 32-Bit one. o_O Bleah.

GErrardo - its all allright man, just chill out about the whole thing - go to articles adn post comments about things that are good, about things that you like and not some hate posts. if you do that then its cool and everything works out. i dont know if you need to go to another website to post your opinion, and i certainly know that NOBODY and NO website will appreciate you expressing your opinion in that same way. you love the psp, obviously, so why dont you respond in psp articles.
oh yeah - and i suppose its possible, that this handheld COULD come out. its not officialy confirmed or denied at this point, so all we can do is cross our fingers. more then likely it is not, but, we can hope…
By “bleah” I mean to say: “That’s a bit of a rot.”
Personally, I believe Sony should have gone with the R4300i or higher. The PSP should have been 64-bit. I think that someone at Sony thought the Nintendo DS was going to replace the Game Boy line of products and decided not to really compete in terms of progressive power. I mean, if Nintendo packs the ARM 11 into the Game Boy Evolution along with at least 16 to 24MB RAM and a miniture optical medium, there is no way the PSP can even compete with that in terms of graphics.
Coming into E3, I think that Nintendo’s Game Boy MX (The multi-media GBA units) will -if they decide to go forward with it- effectively slice a chunk off of the sales of the PSP on its own. The Nintendo DS will have some nice announcements at E3, much of what will have to do with its internet capabilities, PlayOnline, and other items. I think Nintendo will announce the new Game Boy successor around September with some good white paper on it and then show off the new unit in USA Today and online in January to release it in July. So, next E3 will be a one-two punch. E3 2006 will have both units playable. Sony -of course- will have their first PSP revision at E3 2006.
dmgice - checked out your site and i must say i am pretty impressed. just seeing that makes me more inclined to believe your views on the industry - namely your last comment about game boy’s appearance in january. kind of upsets me to hear - i wanted to see it in E3 but i think in the back of my head i highyl doubted it, and was just being hopeful.
anyway - i suppose it wouldnt even make sense to do it so shortly after teh ds, might piss off too many ds owners. they need some really careful balance of timing here, dont want to make anouncements or release it too soon to avoid pissing off ds owners, and dont want to do it too late so they can still be competitive with psp.
i see what youre saying though, what exactly makes you see it that way anyway? anything in particular or just that gamers intuition?
and battalones - can you be a bit more specific? are you talking about the game boy mx? the ds? the gamecube portable (if, the unlikely event that it is real)? explain man.
oh yeah - might as well mention - i dont really believe too much of what rumours spread around the internet - as far as n-siders.com’s comments i think it was pure speculation, be it educated or not.

did you see the flash on the screen. tis sooooooo from a camera. step one the guy takes a photo of zelda when he was playing gamecube and photo shopped it on a sp. and if it did all the stuff it did it would have to need a charger, but do you see a charge jack on it, i dont think so. and if it used bateries u would have to change themm every 2 seconds or it would have to use 5,000 bateries and for such a small thing it cant fit that many bateries.

I think that this nintendo gamecube advance is so cool and they should make it and also they should make it and virtual reality game with a helmet if they did not already and didnot show it. Also I think they should make it a lot better from the technoligy that we are devoloping already.
