PSP Euro Launch Date Set
Its 11:10, I’m suppose to be sleeping since I have school tomorrow and a swim meet, but here I am looking for gaming news. And its the news our friends across the pond have been waiting for.
September 1st 2005 the PSP will be available in Europe retailing for 179 pounds (249 Euros). It will ship in a value pack similiar to the US pack, minus the Spiderman 2 UMD movie. For those that register their shiny new PSP they will receive the Spiderman 2 UMD movie in the mail, though it is unclear how many will be available. No final launch list is available, but expect something similiar to the US launch. Now, lets hear your thoughts on the Euro launch, post away in the comments section.

I had a feeeling it was going to be September, it seems like a total lifetime away as well. Its going to be 4 long months until release date thats for sure.
I was so tempted to import one of the Japanese PSP’s at the weekend but ive got a bad feeling id get one and either there would be something wrong with it or there would be dead pixels and it would cost me a fortune in sending it back
I say for Euro PSP fans. Just wait until September.More games will be available, the kinks will be ironed out the manufacturing process, and you will also have whatever firmware updates that come out already installed.
I reaaallly want one and I live in the states, but I decided to wait a while and see things get ironed out first.
my advice is to import one from japan through lik-sang. had mine for a month or so and its perfect. as for getting one with ‘the latest firmware on it’ its only a download over usb! hardly the most taxing thing in the world! all that was on latest update was ability to resume movies and portugeuse/russian languages…
serioulsy though, just import one, they wont change anything with the manufacturing process, trust me, i’m in the business, its too costly for something that doesn’t have a huge margin on it anyway. i have ridge racer (very good), brotherhood of the blade (good) and lumines and wipeout on order too.
my friends are tech headds too and bought the ds… they regret it soo much, and this is from hardcore nintendo fans.
just bite the bullet and buy one, you will NOT be dissapointed.
Import! Why wait, just to pay more, and get less? Us Brits are gonna be ripped off again, and they will keep doing it, ‘coz people keep buying! Buy a Jap or an NTSC version! I just got one, for £160 with a game, and it works great!

249 €?? That’s more than the 249 US$ that actually costs, and I don’t get Spiderman UMD with the PSP?
I have two choices:
1.- Import PSP (still expensive and battery life short)
2.- Nintendo DS (cheaper, better battery life, I can get it now, and I can play Europa Universalis)
