PSP Eve Should be a National Holiday
Never seen a prettier pile of boxes… Anyway… this should be bigger than anything Halo 2 had, as this is like the release of a new PS2. That can be debated, but I think this piece of hardware is more important than almost any game out there. Alright Sony fanboys, Sony Stores in NYC and San Francisco will be holding midnight launch parties, and Best Buy stores nationwide will be opening two hours early. Selected Blockbuster stores will be opening just past midnight so you can pick up your already pre-ordered units. Another article I found advises customers to go to your local 24-hr Wal-Mart at 10:00pm and ask the staff politely for when they will start selling them (I don’t think they took pre-orders). Other than that, good luck fighting for one if you didn’t pre-order… a LOT of stores around North America already pre-sold their initial shipment.
I didn’t pre-order because in Canada they are forcing with the PSP a game I won’t play, and Sony Canada apparently thinks all PSP buyers absolutely love hockey, let alone this game (Gretzky NHL). The point of a bundle is that a retailer can make a little extra profit by charging a little more to add some accessories or games to a product. To the customer, the bundled price should be a little less than what he/she would pay for if he/she bought the product and the accessories separately. However, Sony is charging us a full 50 bucks extra for the bundled game + PSP. Stupid? I definitely think so. I’m just gonna wait it out (or go to New York and find one).

Hey Im from canada too…I got my value pack from my local Toys-R-Us for 299.99 without any bundled games. Hope you can get yours also!

I work at Sears and we got 50 PSPs for my store and tons of the games. I don’t think many people think of checking Sears when new consoles come out, so it might be a good idea to go to your local Sears store to find one.

For the midnight partiers…less than 90 minutes here in central time! Mountain has 2.5 hours, Pacific 3.5, and lucky east coast is ONLY 30 minutes away!
