PSP Firmware 2.0 Upgrade Gets Web Friendly, Wallpaper Friendly, Image Friendly, and more.

PSP Firmware Upgrade

Official as of now, Sony is indeed pushing a web browser during this 2.0 firmware upgrade. The browser is the major piece they are bleating in every press release and news story today, but a lot more is gained from the firmware upgrade:

And a few other “security” features, but who truly cares about “security”?

So, is the upgrade worth the upgrade? For those with plain ol’ unhacked PSP systems, absolutely. For those with hacked or modded systems, I still recommend it. Its better to download the update now since those who broke previous firmware upgrades are already hard at work at breaking this one. You’ll want to grab 2.0 now so that you don’t end up getting a later version (2.1, 2.5, 2.52, etc) that Sony has already modified to defend against 2.0 hacks.

how do i change my psp to a 2.0 version? my psp is a japanese version 1.0

Most Game (and Demo) UMD’s have a version on them, in the UMD menu look for a UMD symbol with arrows in it, it will tell you what version is included.

You can get the firmware from the official Playstation website.

Once you’re upgraded, give http://net4psp.com it makes getting around the web much easier.

I don’t know how to upgrade the psp.
