PSP Lifts Its Skirt
Most users are too timid and shy to possibly void their warranties and open up their precious (Ed: “My precious!”) PSPs. Others can’t wait! One such gamer, Seth Fogie, did just that. And he didn’t just take the top off, he ripped the PSP apart piece by piece and wrote a very detailed account of it.
Now the picture above is an example of an Ah ha! moment in design. A simple (but most likely not) swivel in the LCD screenplate would have improved the design and function of the PSP dramatically. It would have been easier to watch movies while not holding the damned thing and easier to play in bright lighting conditions. The unit most likely would have been thicker as they tried to cram extra casing in between the screen and the parts. Oh well. Perhaps something like this will evolve into a flipscreen PSP2?

k…the only ppl who say the ds is better r those ppl who canta fford the psp i bought the psp and the ds and the ds SUCKS graphics SUCK and itz ugly i men sure u can chat on it ..but music is soo much better the psp is good quality and kool the ds is just a waste of money it will probubly break any day iz so gay i gave it to my sister lol NAD SHE HATES IT!
Now that’s just silly, Vicky. Since when are Nintendo’s products prone to breaking? They aren’t. I still have an original GB in working condition and an NES in working condition. Nintedo’s products are built to last. The sony PSP you can drop once and crack the screen.

I admit i was wrong, The Xbox does have a flaw that I dearly despise, The fact that If left unplugged the XBOX will lose track of time and the clock/calendar has to be reset. Gamecube is good that way. Geez I wish they would make a GOOD sequal to Chrono Trigger.

thats a very nice image of the psp 2 flip up screen , but its not totally accurate because i invented the flip up screen PSP2 2 weeks ago and described it like this:THE PSP2 IS DESIGNED OFF THE PS2 CONTROLLER, AND WILL HAVE A FLIP UP SCREEN ON TOP OF THE CONTROLLER,THE SCREEN IS A FLAT SCREEN (APROX. 2 INCHES ABOVE THE CONTROLLER HOLDING ON BY TWO SWILVELS) AND IT IS FACING DOWN, (IF THE PS2 CONTROLLER IS STANDING STRAIGHT UP THE SCREENS WILL LAY OVER THE TOP OF IT FLAT) THEN IT SWIVELS FROM BEING FLAT ON TOP TO FACING YOU, AFTER THAT ANOTHER SCREEN WILL SLIDE UP FROM BEHIND THAT. I think nintendo either released the DS too early or was just plain desperate and didn’t have the time to put out much more than sad cheap games and ports. BUT if all of you wise up and WAIT for a little while, DS will SWEEP SONY OFF OF ITS FEET!!!! Sony will FALL!!!! Do yourself a favor. Keep your DS and sell your old gameboy advance, so all the sad PSP owners who blew all of their money on the system itself can have something to play. Have pity. Show mercy. the psp2 looks incredible.i think alot of people would buy it if it came out in the next few months.something i think that sony should do is stick wireless internet on it if the consumer wants it.
When has sony ever been original?? for all i know, they put that shitty PS out to counter Nintendo’s N64, then they did the PS2 which sucked graphically at first, although i have to admit it has come along way since the first days of the PS2..
anyway i think that putting a hand held PS2 out on the market is complete bullshit. DS is bullshit. Its all bullshit. Why? Because they were rushed into manufacturing and they are definetly NOT what they could be. It pisses me off to see these potential technological breakthroughs be another mediocre piece of consumer crap, all because they wanted to sell it around Christmas time.

I am a NintyFan And i admit the psp has better graphics and looks better. The ds is quite chunky, but for some reason I love it! i do like the psp and if i had enough money i would consider buying one. I chose the DS becuase I like the idea of having something new and innoative which is the touch screen. And i thought i would have to get it because I love the zelda games. I just think that psp is just my ps2 basicly and i have an ipod so i dont really need psp.
Recently, I thought of something else that is gay about the psp… U HAVE TO BUY A SEPERATE DISK FORMAT TO WATCH MOVIES ON PSP!!! wow, who the hell would waste thier time and money buying a movie and squinting to watch it on thier tiny, 2-fucking-inch psp screen…

Actually you dont have to buy a second UMD you can copy your existing one onto a memory stick, all the fun of the movies with less of the pop corn.
It seems to me that people are starting to realize how bad the psp really is…. here are other examples:
1. The psp doesn’t play dvds, the big hype was that it would play dvds, but now that people know its already flopping. and people don’t wanna buy a movie to have to watch it on a friggen 4″ screen or w/e (really i dont care).
2. The psp cant play ps2 games, people also thought that was true, but again it was just sony trying to herd in lost sheep.
3. The psp holds music… Yes, but the memory cards can get quite expensive and if i wanted to listen to music i would buy an mp3 player so i would be able to listen to my music in good quality.

Another point- generally, i’m up to date with technology, having the latest gizmo gadget thing that comes out. But the only thing i shun (technology wise) is the console industry. why? because its all about money- make the last version obsolete so the consumer will spend more money on the new version while we become rich in our exective office while they rot thier brains out on the couch playing crappy games on a 2″ screen. And its not only Sony. Basically ever other console is a bogus rip off. dont get me stared with the xbox 360. i played it 3 times in EB games, ad i gotta say the graphics… not that different. I think the public must be so stupid that the console companies slap “next generation console” in the title so they will waste thier cash on bullshit.
i think we should all go to those companies and take big craps on thier faces.
