New Super Mario Bros

Need more evidence that New Super Mario Bros is going to be THE definitive Super Mario Bros game? How about Nintendo releasing the NSMB Official Site at mario.nintendo.com? This could have been a portal for all things Mario. Mario Tennis and Mario Kart fans could have made this their daily Mario fix. But in a bold move, Nintendo has basically declared NSMB as the future of Mario, by dedicated his whole subdomain to his new DS game.

There is a new video released there today too. Showing Mario in the dungeons and swimming with a shell. If you need one good handheld gaming reason to attend E3 this year, this game is it!

We have given our due diligence and we conclude that 4 Color Rebellion is a very cool site. If we were Yahoo and cared, we'd have given it the cool site of day award a long time ago. How cool are they? So cool. They're hyper cool. Retro cool even. Check out their IGNore campaign (which we have no reason not to join), how cool is that?. Or the recent Nintendo Power Howard & Nester (NESTER!) sightings. We love sites that dig out the obscure. 4CR gets the unofficially official PortaGame Cool Site of the Day Award. And some cheese.

Kotaku is one of the three latest Gawker flavored weblogs to keep us up on news and not so newsie games stuff. A derivative of the japanese word "otaku", which basically means "unhealthily obsessed", Kotaku has a fresh approach to games coverage which we can relate to. They'll be bringing only the top-of-the-scene news which they find trendy, instead of redigesting the millions of video game related press releases that magically appear during the week. We look forward to their unique view on the video games industry.

We have another confession. We've been cheating on our favorite gadget weblogs. We've been lured in by the colorfulness and lucidity of newcomer Uber Gizmo. Oh, the others need not worry. We'll keep them around like scarlet mistresses. Uber Gizmo just happens to be our flavor of the week. After all, we did find a mercury free button battery and letters via email at their blogger based site. (psst...uber guys, here's a tip: upgrade from blogger)

Wow, _every_ post here that wasn't simply asking questions was _completely_ wrong.

Desolder the memory stick interface and solder on USB? Huh? So memory stick and USB are "the same", you just need to "hook the wires up"? No. USB != memory stick. Memory sticks are connected to memory stick controller chips, USB ports are connected to USB controller chips. No amount of "soldering" will change that.

If every piece of Windows software was written with .Net, then it would be a more stable operating system? The point of protected-mode is so that programs can't interfere with each other, no matter how buggy one program may be. Windows should not crash, no matter what crappy application you run on it. [Though the application may crash.]

Now, for those of you who think that Linux is the holy grail that will "remove all the restrictions", you are, like everyone else on this thread, utterly confused. An operating system's control over its hardware is only as good as it's device drivers. Just having linux run on the PSP doesn't mean we'll magically be able to write to things we werent able to write to before, or magically change the USB controller from "slave to master mode." Even if the USB chip inside the PSP supports that, just having Linux wouldn't magically make that possible, one would have to write device drivers to accomplish it. If you can write a device driver to do it, well, then, you could write kernel-mode homebrew to do it as well, and I haven't seen any that does that.

Why post technical comments when you don't have any idea what you are talking about? Does it really matter if random internet people think you are "smart"?

Anyways, linux is on the PSP now. Check out df38.dot5hosting.com/~remember/chris
