Sony Launches Official PSP Movie Download Site And Free Content
Sony has now opened a free video content site to show off the capabilities of the PSP on its launch day (which we’re lobbying to make a National Holiday so everyone can be celebrating PSP Eve and PSP Day). With partners like Nike and, umm, Sony Pictures, we are expecting most of the content to be trailers and commercials. However, there are some full free episodes of Speed Racer (!++) and a Warren Miller mini film (as well as a trailer).
Beggers can’t be choosers. Any free content to show off PSP video to officemates who still think it’s just a toy will be very welcomed. Some Warren Miller for the CEO, some Speed Racer for the sysadmin, some ABC News for the general counsel, and a documentary on a western sidewinder snake for the middle manager will really surprise the “Office” as to what the PSP really is.
I know, I know, all video must be saved on a pricey duo stick and or bought on UMDs, etc, blah blah blah. But this is FREE content. Free as in you don’t pay for it. If you don’t like it, delete it. No harm done. Really, who can argue free, let alone Speed Racer?

My PSP UMD release latch won’t ’spring’ back into place! Not the end of the world, but quite annoying. I have to manually move the latch across while holding the UMD door closed. I guess a spring broke/stretched out. Still, I’m really enjoying this device when I travel – those 3 hr flights to SF aren’t so bad anymore…

Also, the background color changes each month. You can’t reset it, unless you change the clock.
Vinay, the background color changes month by month. April is pink…next month will be a lime color. Change the date if u wanna do it manually.
i just got my psp a week ago but i cant figure how to download movies music and anything else on it if u know how please tell me. the games i have are TwisteD MetaL and TonY HawK.

Ifigured out how to bet stuff onto the psp, you need a special cord (doesn’t come with psp) and plug it into the port by the UMD slot. or get something to plug the memory stick into. the only problem is, i can’t find any place that has any things for the psp that i can download

and chris – sony’s been taking nintendos ideas for almost 10 years now, and its no different with the psp. not that its a bad thing, they just cant top the imagination of nintendo, so instead they emulate and refine it (to some extent).
ralph – it should be pretty plug and play. do you have a memory card inserted into the psp when you connected it?

To download music you need to plug your psp up to your computer with a usb chord (a digital camera cable will work)and then a removable disk file will pop up. then if you have the memory stick that came with the psp ,then just download all your music files into that.
You can use almost any standard USB cord. Just look for one that has an end that fits into the top of your PSP. Or you can go another way and visit gamestop or EBgames, and they have special PSP usb cords, though those costs a little more than just a plain generic USB cord, and they both do the job.
its easier to upload you media to the psp if your computer has a card reader. i have a 6 in 1 card reader and all i have to do is insert the memory card in and just copy the files i want to it. it beats having to deal with a usb cord and the guessing game.
you also have to create separate folders on the memory card in order to save your files. for example(one folder for music one for pics, movies ……etc.
ok i know this sounds stupid but how do you hook your psp to your computer my nephew just got one and im curious as to doing it so he can DL music… someone help please

if u format ur memory stick using ur psp then it will create the folder for you to put things in. e.g music folder for music
to all people who own a psp system
format card via psp to create all directories needed (except the movie directory)(caution! formatting will erase all data on card).
root directory on card = psp (folder)
inside psp will be music folder, pic folder etc which you can put such files. ex mp3 files should be put on music folder.
there are 2 ussual way to put files on psp:
1. via usb cable (usb a to b) that comes included with most digital cameras (or any portable device that connects to pc).then have the psp connect via usb (note: pushing any button on the psp will disconnect the connection).the pc(winxp) will recognize your device/drive automatically.(winme,win98 needs proper drivers. tip search google)
having each device connected means you just have to copy or move the files onto your card/drive ^_^.
2.or the simpler mode is having a pc with a built-in card reader (memory stick/ms.duo card reader) or portable card reader. just put the psp duo card onto your pc. then copy your files to the appropriate directories in the card.

other thingies.. i saw sony ps3 e3 show… my evaluation… sony will outprofit all gaming system on its class just like it did on ps1 and ps2. people all over the world will embrace sony’s new machine due to well… all aspects in life is covered in ps3. vivid games, quality movie player, networking, ease of use, new tech for better and enhanced play/entertainment. it can be a replacement for the bulks (vcr/cd/dvd player, ps1/ps2 or other game system nyahaha) on your living room (except the TV and Couch of course hehe).

hey…damm..just got my PSP couple days ago…its going really great…i had a question…I hav bought da Japanese version of PSP that has firmware 1.5..am upgrading it to v. 2…but can anyone tell me what will be the new features of doing that…and if its ok to upgrade…nd same question how do i get mini games in the psp..or wehere to download them…

HOW TO GET PHOTOS, MOVIES AND MUSIC ON YOUR PSP
Ok, most people wonder how to get photos, movies and music onto there psp. I searched a lot of websites trying to find out how. I finally managed to get photos and music onto it but there was nothing for movies. If your like me then your just a kid and don’t really know a lot about computers. It took me a whole summer trying to find out how to put movies onto it. I searched loads and loads of websites but there was nothing.
Ok first I am going to tell you how to put photos onto the psp if you are new to this.
What you need:
USB cable
computer
psp console
Ok when you have got them first you need to plug the USB cable into the psp and then into the back of your computer. On you psp go onto the settings at the far left and then click USB connection. It should come up with USB mode on the psp. Now if you have got a windows XP computer like me then a window will come up saying “Removable Disk (E:)” then click on open folders to view files using windows explorer then click ok. If you’ve got windows 2000 or lower all you need to do is go on my computer then click on removable disk (E:) it should come up with something like this:

now if you want your photos go onto your photos or wherever you saved your photos right click the photo and then click “send to” then click “Removable Disk (E:)” now go back onto “my computer” and then click “Removable Disk Drive (E:)” now you should see your photo in there. Now drag the photo and put it into the “psp” folder now click the “psp” folder and your photo will be in there, now drag it into the “photo” section and now you should have your photo on the psp. If you’re not sure how to look at the photo on your psp follow these instructions:
go on the psp and click on “Photo” and now it should come up with your photo then click it to enlarge it.
If you followed all these instructions clearly then you should have your photos on.
This page will tell you how to get music on your psp.
before you start I am going to warn you that getting music on your psp is harder than getting photos.
before putting the music on the psp you may need music I got a lot of music on mine but you may need bigger than 30MB I suggest a 256MB or a 512MB.
Ok I download my music and the best place that I use is “ARES” or “LIMEWIRE” they are both free unless you sign up for the really fast ones. (I prefer the free ones) to get “Ares” go on http://www.google.com and type in download Ares a lot of things should come up any of them should do but if you can go on http://www.aresgalaxy.org/ this is the real website to download it then click on download and download the right one for your computer I would suggest the top right hand one it is the fastest. Once you have downloaded it start downloading music!!! J. It is the same with limewire type download lime wire on google or go on http://www.limewire.com to download the free version (I suggest ARES if you want the best downloads because limewire gave me a lot of viruses but Ares didn’t.
Ok now you’ve got your music you need to get them on your psp if you follow these steps you should be able to do it. (I suggest if you are under the age of 10 you should get an adult to help you with it, I am only 12 and I have just managed to do it)
Lets say you have downloaded your music of limewire/Ares and you now have them on your windows media player. (if you do not have windows media player I suggest you download it) Save all your songs into your “Library” on the media player. Now click on the song and go onto “file” in the top left corner and click on “save as” now go on “My computer” then click on “removable disk (E:)” now click on “psp” then click on “music” and now press save. This will save your music on your psp.

Now what most of you would have been waiting for how to download movies on your psp.
Ok like the music there are a lot of ways to download movies if you already have Ares or limewire then start downloading movies.
Ok first you will need to download “psp movie creator” you can download it from a lot of places and you can guess, go on google and type in “download psp movie creator” and then you can download it.
Once you have this it is really easy to use. You can download the free version or you can pay for it. (If you want long movies you will have to pay for it, but if you want stuff like South Park or the Simpson’s then its perfect). Ok now once you have downloaded it go on it and then click open and click the movie you want and then set the volume and about how long it is, now press record.
Once its done it will say transfer to your psp say yes transfer and then it will transfer. This should do it for you if it does not do it then please email me [EDIT]

A good website to download psp things is http://www.pspdrive.com if you have version 1.5 on your psp then it will download everything, if you have version 2 then it will download only some things.

PSP pwns joo. Nothing Nintendo has out can compete. It is ridiculous to even try and compare the two. Although Nintendo is a good cheap alternative to have something to waste or pass time here and there.
hey guys i just want too say that your all wanka’s, use limewire to download movies and such then download a converter e.g. 3gp converter and then put it on ur psp, buy the way you need to create a special folder for the videos, tony hawks isnt worth getting; gets old quick, burout is amazing tho so get it i got it, do any of u think the ceramic one is cool, i think its a bit puffy!

to clear things up, you need a usb data transfer cable to get movies and tunes on the psp. the movie must be in mp4 format and music should be an mp3. you must put the files in the right folder. music in the music folder and movies in one of the folders in the mp root folder. if you download from the psp’s internet browser, it will put the files in the right place for you.
read the dam manual to figure out how to change the theme or how to set a wallpaper. you will kick yourself when you see how easy it is.
u dont ave to change thhe month to change display colour just go settings theme settings then colour simple. and u no wen u wanna fimd a site that has free downloads well i found a site that said free downloads i try to download and its sais sign up now only $37 wat the hell .
MemoryStick Duo (MSDuo) works with certain built-in card readers (like 7-in-1) that also have MemoryStick (MS) slot included. If those doesn’t work (like mine) I use SANDISK MS-to-MSDuo adaptor (it’s something like a case which I slide my MSDuo into) and then I insert the whole thing into the MS slot in my computer. Or I can always use my external USB card-reader the same way. So, if your computer isn’t equipped by card-reader (buil-in or external) I’m afraid there’s no other option to put MS Duo in the computer.
When your on the internet of the psp, and you save a video like a sample video,what do you save it under i tried them all but nothing is under video still says no videos saved or something like dat.
I was told that u can hook up your PSP to the computer using the USB port with a USB cord to get the internet from your PSP if you don’t have a wireless conection. It didn’t work.

im fed up with this sh1tty psp. I can put mp3s and photos but NOT movies. i have a japanese psp with 1.5. the site linked above with free downloads direct to psps DOES NOT WORK, and the mp root folder with the correct folder to put files in DOES NOT WORK. My psp simply doesnt know that it exists.

as for playing movies & games from the mem stick its easy
games
if you have a 2.60f/w psp then you need to update to 2.71f/w … then your going to need henb & devhook
once you set them up ( google on how to do it ) your good 2 go .. what ever games you find on the net go in a iso folder that you need to make your self … then you load the iso/cso in devhook and play away
movies
make sure they are in mp4 format
once you hook your psp to your computer you should see a mp_root folder .. inside that .. there should be a folder named 100MNV01 … if not make one ( this is where your movies go )
once you have your movie ready to copy over .. make sure it is names something like M4V10030.mp4 or its not going to work .. once you have done that .. go to video on your psp .. hit x .. and watch your movie
and its easy to find sites that have movies and games .. all you have to do is search google
Enmanuel, for videos, be sure the video is an mp4 format, then use a USB to a Mini USB cable to attach the PSP to your computer, then it will recognize it. Go to “my computer” in windows, then open the correct drive. Drag and drop them to the Videos folder on the psp.
i been had my psp but i never had used it but for my movies and i had just got a game for it but it says i need a connection and i dont have a cord for it so what should i do and it is not cheap my mom got it from iraq when i had my b-day and pluse it didnt come with a cord but my older sister did but she dont live with me
hi i had the same problem but fixed it. open Device Manager, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.then click on disk drives you will see *sony psp usb device* right click and uninstall.then when computer is finished uninstalling plug psp back in to computer and all will be well . *make sure psp is connected on usb mode before you start this process *
can u upload stuff to the psp from the bluetooth dongle? any1 know?

for anyone who still dosn’t know how to change the background color you gotta go to theme settings then theme and it brings up a bunch of colors that u can choose from and just click on the color u want its not that hard. Seriously

and tada you can now change the color
you dont have to do all the changing date and whatevers

I just received my PSP today, and it has 3 stuck pixels. I’ve looked up the solution to this. Sony’s policy seems to be that PSP owners should try out the system for 1 to 2 weeks to see if the pixel problem corrects itself. If it doesn’t, you can send it back to them to get a replacement. You will have to pay for shipping, however. Apparently, some vendors may replace a PSP with a certain number of stuck or dead pixels, provided that they have another PSP to replace it with.
