Sony PSP Hard to Find: 1GB Memory Stick Duo Even Harder

so how much do you think one of these 1gb memory sticks cost (in Canadian dollars)? i want to buy a 512mb stick but how much does that hold? i just want to put my tv shows onto the psp along with my music and a few saved games, and some photos in the future for when the psp camera comes out. but is 512 mb enough for that or should i just buy two?

PSP’s hard to find? Really?

I cruised by my local Wal-Mart here (NB, Canada), and they had bout 15-20 on the shelf just waiting for purchase (I believe it came with spider man 2 movie, and gretzky hockey) - just under 350 (Canadian ofcourse).

Well, I’m not in Canada you see. Here they are impossible to find. Part of the point of this was to determine where they are hard to find, and where they aren’t. Apparently the PSP sells better in certain areas - it would be interesting to dive in deeper and find out why.

I don’t know how you got this info but according to people that have sent in reports to IGN from all over the country, the PSP launch didn’t sell out in most places.

I don’t think that people suddenly bought them all up in the last 4 days.

I went into Toys R Us near me and they had an entire stack of unsold PSPs. I asked the clerk how they were selling and he said that they weren’t really selling and he had 5 returns on it already (this was only 2 days after launch).

Wow, five returns? I wonder what caused that. I’d imagine dead pixels and they were exchanged for good systems, but it still makes me wonder.

Well, I am quite surprised of this situation about Sony PSP in US! I live in Italy and we have not a date of the launch on the market yet so I was reading your comments; that’s all. I would like to know if there is a ” memory card ” created for PSP only or it is possible to use every kind of memory stick of different brands; Is there someone who can give me this information? Psp hard to find? where the heck are you at, I just trecked all across the US and couldn’t find a sold out store. The 1 gig hard to find… well DUH nobody is going to buy it its way to expensive, especially after you just bought Sony’s over-priced,half-assed, and “proprietary” accesory bundle thing.

I got my self a PSP, but it was the secound shipment soo….. I didn’t get a free copy of Spidy2

oh well, now I just needa find a good price on some 1gb sticks, or find out if I can use my 1gb and 512 stick of SD memory…. hmmm?

I asked a guy with 3 PSP [1 U.S, 1 Japanze, 1 U.K.] how much a PSP 512 mb memory card he said that the 512 mb can hold 5 south park episodes [avrige amont of time 30 min]and the 1gb can hold half of band of brothers last he said the 2 gb [only japanze soon U.S.]can hold the 3 lord of the rings :}

i live down here in miam and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find it anywhere. ive checked bestbuy, walmart, target, circuitcity, EB games, toys r us, k mart, and in my local mall

noone has it. i call every single day and i always get the same answer. its like the exact hour that i dont call them, they sell out. i will go crazy soon if i dont get it.

i had a question about the upcoming GTA game for psp… is it gonna be the old “areal view” version of GTA or the newer versions?

well john, i put 1 1/2 hours of tv on it with great quality, 200mb of compressed music (about 70 tracks) and all my save games. all on a 512 mb card but with all the new stuff coming out like the camera, your likely going to need more space but if your going to want more than what i described above, then you might wanna stick around for when you find a 1gb (which is all the space you should need)

Staples website has these memory sticks for sale. Just got mine in the mail a few days ago. They also have the 2Gig one.

FIVER your a bull$|t artist, staples doesnt even carry the 1 gb memory card let alone a 2 gb

Do us all a favor and get a life rather then posting on here bs stories of how you just got your memory card. Face the facts your a poor son of a b}t(h that cant even afford to purchase a PSP let alone a 1 gb memory card

Ha Ha. U guys R so so lame. Why dont u just order it there instock all over the internet. I got mine for 240 with a usb cable and music headphone remote. Plus i got a 50 $ 1 gig memory stick off ebay. u guys dont know where to look.

i got my psp but it was on the second shipment but that didn’t bother me much, anyways i found alot of 521mb memory cards in circuit city but its the 1gb ones that are pretty much impossible to find at a store..

I cant find any 1gb’s for $50 unless your excluding the $100 postage fee most of them are asking for, any chance of a link to it then >
