Sony PSP Launch
Sony PSP anyone? The Big K brings us confirmed (CONFIRMED!) details of the US Sony PSP launch. You can empty that savings account you’ve been building up at your local gamestore on March 24th. The cost? “$250 in the U.S. and $300 in Canada”. Sony should have kept it under the $200 mark. A quarter of a grand and $50 a pop per game will be expensive to build a decent library for the system. Hardcore gamers and devout Sony fanboys will still pick it up at that price, but a lot of people will decide to wait until the price drops before they move on it.

The good news is, the $250 price point is for the Sony PSP Value pack. That includes a 32MB memory stick, those headphones with the attached PSP remote dongle thingy, a soft case (Thank you, Sony!), a sampler UMD, and, get this “The first one million units will also include a complete copy of Spider-Man 2, which just kicks ass.”
Ok, the extra $50 does sound too bad now, but I’m also a hardcore handheld gamer. Fanboys shouldn’t see a problem with the price either. Now we just have to convince the general public who have already purchased Spider Man 2 and seen it a couple-dozen times. At least it wasn’t the White album.
