TV Shows To Be Released On UMD

UMD TV Shows

On June 14th, Sony will start producing UMDs of popular TV shows. They’ll start with Spider-Man - The New Animated Series, which will retail for $19.95. We’re sure we’ll see more TV-to-UMD releases in the near future.

TV shows on UMD make sense. Except when at a $20 pricepoint. I wouldn’t mind popping in a favorite show every once in while. On the PSP, it would be easier to sit through a 20 minute episode, rather than a full 2 hour feature film. Just not for 20 BUCKS!

UMD is going to be BIG … They going to take OVERT THE WORLD. DVD Players will be Converted to UMD Players … Mwahahahah…Just kidding. Imagine that, wouldn’t that be crazy. Quick question, will people soon be able to hack the umd games and have the actul game on the computer and then having it sent to Memory shick and playing off of it???

Your show sucks

The MTV spiderman animated series is actually pretty good, (much better than the cartoon that used to come on FOX). And I think for 20 dollars, 13 episodes is pretty good. I can see this becoming the niche where the UMD really becomes successful. I can see myself pay 20 bucks for a season of episodes, where I would otherwise have to pay alot more for it on DVD. My only request is that they decide to move over alot of other tv shows.

the simpson…. that would be cool. yu can download ur favorte tv shows and save them and transfter them on to ur psp even now.

I think $20 represents good value at a release point, as you could argue that multiple episodes of a TV series is more flexible than the series aggregate time of a full length movie.

The only version on Amazon right now is $15 although it is suprising to me how UMD Video is still listed under the DVD format.
