When Portable Gaming Is Not An Option: Part 3: Mod Your Own Woody

Our shoptalk usually consists of just Portable Gaming. But, we are well aware that Portable Gaming isn’t always an option, or a preference. We’re very understanding. Understanding enough that for Portable Gaming not to be an option, there had better be some extreme alternatives. In this four part (for now) series, we’ve gathered such extreme alternatives for when your favorite Portable system is on the lam.

Part 3: Mod Your Own Woody

This mod isn’t portable, technically, but it sure is a nice tote for three complete systems. Take a SNES, Nintendo 64, and a Playstation and blender-dem-ahl-together in wood casing and you have the Woodcube. It may not be the most beautiful mod on the market, but it’s one hell of a first attempt. We especially like the external CD for the PlayStation. Robert Edström may not have listed any reasons for combining the systems into one unit, but a “just ’cause” would be reason enough. Plop this monster down on a table at a Lan party and you’re sure to get some attention. Now, if only you can squeeze a dual-Athlon 64 mobo in there…

Nice work Robert!
