When Portable Gaming Is Not An Option: Part 4: IMAX HALO-TOPIA
Our shoptalk usually consists of just Portable Gaming. But, we are well aware that Portable Gaming isn’t always an option, or a preference. We’re very understanding. Understanding enough that for Portable Gaming not to be an option, there had better be some extreme alternatives. In this four part (for now) series, we’ve gathered such extreme alternatives for when your favorite Portable system is on the lam.
Part 4: IMAX HALO-TOPIA
IMAX HALO-TOPIA may sound like a gamers only disease, but it is much much better than that. If you happen to be in San Fransisco on July 23rd and were born a lucky bastard, then you’ll be sitting inside an Imax Dome theatre watching and/or playing Halo at the 3rd annual MaxGames Video Game Tournament. That is what I call IMAX HALO-TOPIA. (Portable Gaming, what’s that?)
Onboard for presentations are Red vs. Blue and Bungie, where the famous Halo 2 trailer will be played again (bring lighters for encore). Oh, and the games you can play:
Tony Hawk 4
DDR: Max 2
Downhill Domination
Mario Kart Double Dash
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Super Monkey Ball 2
NASCAR Thunder 2004
Halo
SSX 3
If you volunteer you can play a free game while off shift.

Wow! What would it be like?
I now have new goals in life…my own IMAX theatre!
Thanks for the tidbit Dan!

Tom Doherty, founder of Escient Technology, reportedly has an IMAX screen in his Indianapolis mansion. Although designed as a honest-to-goodness “home theater,” it apparently gets used for neighborhood XBox tournaments by his children.
