Wow! Look what else they’re making white!

Catching on to the current consumer electronics trend of making absolutely EVERYTHING white (started by Apple’s first iPod in 2001, no doubt)… Sony has unsurprisingly decided to release a white Sony PSP. Yes, it’s official now. White DS, White PSP, what’s next? Oh yeah, XBox360’s already white, and the PS3 comes in white too… I bet the Nintendo Revolution will come in white sometime too, or face abysmal sales figures…
Here’s the more interesting stuff: according to Engadget, a free firmware update version 2.0 will add a few features worth mentioning. It includes real web browser (don’t need to be forced to buy Wipeout Pure anymore…), WPA (wireless encryption protocol, so you can log on to your hopefully secured wireless network), a pic-sharing mode among PSP users, and something called Portable TV, probably only for Japan, and finally, the update will obviously add more countermeasures against homebrew hacks. Don’t know, might be worth updating my PSP for ‘pic sharing’ over playing Pokémon Red…

I am so very glad that the McDonalds PSP promotion -which is USA ONLY- will be over soon.
That said, the white PSP is a great “too little, too late” idea from Sony.
The new psp looks great! However, it has the new firmware and the emulators that work on the 1.5 one won’t work
